The client especially wanted to have a swimming pool on the second level. The client wanted to create the impression of minimalist living, with view to be available on every level. Everything was to be clean line to detract from the small foot print of the site and to draw the eye back and up throught the home, to the ocean views to the rear. This was a small battle Axe block of only 541sqm, so the layout had to be compact but workable living areas." DESIGN ANALYSISThe pools had to be on the first floor off the living room, as there was no room on the ground floor. The garages had to be of good size with a large entry and a lift to service all levels. Windows to the view, were the more important aspect of the design, the clean lines of the interior, and a crisp lines to the exterior. The Stainless steel gutters and downpipes, Glass Handrails components add to perfect finish to the beach side façade. DESIGN OUTCOMEThe clients have responded well to the finished Duplex. The Pool areas tie together the living areas and take in the ocean views off the balconies. The Duplex has achieved all expectations of the client, he is living in one side and is selling the other, the response from the buyers has been outstanding. As this is a battle axe block on only 541sqm. |
